Barbara Hill Stinson

STINSON, Barbara Hill 54, of Clinton, WA, died on May 9, 2003. Born on February 24, 1949 in Teaneck, NJ, she came to the Bay Area more than 20 years ago where she earned a masters degree in social work. After serving as a case manager at North Bay Regional Center, she settled in the North Bay and was a behavioral specialist for many years at On Our Own, a behavioral and educational consulting agency in Santa Rosa, where she later became Executive Director. Three years ago, she and her husband, Thomas W. Stinson, a speech and language pathologist who taught classes for children with communication handicaps for Santa Rosa City Schools, moved to Whidbey Island in Washington, a place where she found serenity. Her spiritual development was an important part of her life and after completing a course of study at the Center for Spiritual Study in Marin Co., she became an ordained minister in 2001. She dearly loved her family, pets and garden. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her stepson Hugh, her mother Gretchen Hill, special friends, Linda and John Morgenberke and godchildren, Michael Morgenberke and Tommy Morgenberke. A memorial service will be held on May 28, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. at the Luther Burbank Art and Garden Center, 2050 Yulupa Ave., Santa Rosa. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
